What is AFOC?
It's a 16-week development experience for serious amateur cricketers who aspire to play professionally and want to train and compete in Australia.
AFOC is designed specifically for committed cricketers seeking more than just a gap year abroad. It's for those who want purpose, structure, and mentoring to reach the next level.
We've built a programme that elevates skillset and mindset, integrating high-level coaching alongside club training and match commitments. By maximising this Australian opportunity, you'll return home having developed as a cricketer and as a person.

Tom Scollay knows what it takes to be a professional player. That's why he built AFOC.
Tom achieved his dream of playing professional cricket for Middlesex CCC – an accomplishment he's incredibly proud of. But despite reaching the professional game, he doesn't feel he fulfilled his full potential. Not because he lacked the talent, but because he didn't have the right people around him at the right time.
We've developed pro cricketers before. Now we want to help you.
We've worked with some of the game's elite established and up-and-coming cricketers, including Steve Smith, Jake Weatherald, Josh Philippe and James Bracey. We know what it takes for cricketers to reach the top of their game.
We've mentored Teague Wyllie (pictured) since he was 13. In April 2022, at 17, he became the youngest player to ever win the Sheffield Shield title, and in October 2022, the youngest to score a Sheffield Shield century since Ricky Ponting, 30 years earlier.
We're committed to applying everything we know about developing professional cricketers to help you reach your highest potential in the game.

We don't just accept everyone into AFOC.
To keep the quality of the programme high and to ensure we only accept athletes who are committed to chasing their goals, we are very selective as to who we accept into AFOC. Here's what happens once you apply.
Submit your application
Tell us about your cricket, your goals, and why you want to be part of AFOC.
Get on a call with us
Our mentors will review your match and training footage, then conduct an interview with you to determine if you're the right fit for the programme.
Selection & deposit
If you're selected into AFOC, you secure your place with a deposit.
Club placement & logistical support
We will find you a suitable club, and assist you with the logistics of moving to and living in Perth.
AFOC commences
You'll arrive in Perth, and begin the experience of a lifetime!
Common questions
That's exactly what the application call is for. We assess ability and mindset together, and if AFOC isn't the right fit for where you're at, we'll tell you honestly.
We match every athlete to a club based on the ability and suitability of the player, as well as the availability of our partner clubs.
Flights, visas, health services and insurance aren't included, but we guide you through them and have a partnered accommodation provider (Yugo) to make settling into Perth straightforward.
We'll walk you through the full investment and payment structure once you complete your application.
No. We only take 16 athletes a season and we're selective about who we accept, so every AFOC athlete is chasing the same goals as you.
It's not included in the base programme, but if you are interested in receiving a program for the summer, we will connect you with our S&C partners, Diamond High Performance.
