STRENGTH & CONDITIONING PROGRAMS

While there are many aspects of cricket that you cannot control (conditions, pitch, umpiring decisions, opposition, just to name a few), something that you are in complete control of is your fitness. Like any athlete, cricketers need to follow a strength and conditioning program to reach their optimal performance. How fit you are is determined by your decisions. Everyone knows what they SHOULD be doing. It’s the ones that TAKE THE ACTION that become the best. Cricket Mentoring offers players strength & conditioning programs designed to improve your strength, speed, power, agility, mobility & endurance. All programs are specific to your skill and your previous experience doing S & C training.

Who are these programs for?

Whether you’re a batter, bowler or wicket-keeper and if you have limited/ no experience or lots of experience in strength & conditioning training, we’ve got a program that’s going to help you become fitter, stronger, fast, more powerful & less likely to get injured. These programs aren’t for you if you just want big muscles to look good in the mirror (although you WILL look good if you follow the program and have a disciplined diet). Our aim is to help you become the best athelete you can be and improve the specific muscles you need to perform your skill (batting, bowling, wicket-keeping) consistently for long periods of time. Each program focuses on mobility and functional exercises that will give you a strong foundation to minimise the rsk of injury in your career and imrove your power (hitting sixes, bowling faster or taking diving catches). Programs range from beginners who have never done any strength work before, to young professionals who are wanting to gain an extra edge to their preparation. Our strength and conditioning programs incorporate exercises that international cricketers use to keep themselves in the best condition possible.

Who’s created the programs?

All the programs have been designed by our mentor Simon Keen who is a former professional cricketer (NSW, Canterbury, Sydney Sixes & Thunder) and has over 10 years experience in cricket specific strength & conditioning and as a personal trainer.
